Mary Kathleen Pingenot

Mary Kathleen Pingenot passed away peacefully on June 24, 2012 at the age of 102. Kathleen was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma on August 15, 1909 to Roy Cain and Ruby Hancock Cain. She spent most of her childhood and adult life in Fort Worth and Dallas, Texas. She met her husband, Frank Edward Pingenot, in 1927. Kathleen and Frank were married October 1, 1928 and shared 51 years together. Kathleen was a member of Lover’s Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas and was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution.

In 1983, Kathleen moved to California to be near her daughter, Judy Klippi. She spent seventeen years in California before returning to Texas. Upon her return to Texas, she moved to the Wesleyan Retirement Home and spent her final years at the Wesleyan at Scenic, where she made many wonderful friends.

Kathleen is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Pingenot Barnes and husband Champ of Georgetown, Texas and Judy Klippi and husband Stan of Banning, California; nine grandchildren, Mark Barnes of Victoria, Texas, Doug Barnes of Fort Worth, Texas, Ann Barnes of Dallas, Texas, Pam Brockway of Dallas, Texas, Kathy Omomo of Ventura, California, Elizabeth Klippi of San Diego, California, Susan Smith of Chico, California, Eddie Klippi of Goose Creek, South Carolina and Aimee Pingenot of Dallas, Texas; and fifteen great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Frank Edward Pingenot and son Michael Pingenot.

The family wishes to give thanks to the entire staff of Wesleyan at Scenic for their many years of loving care. Also, special thanks to Dr. Jane Shepherd and Wesleyan Hospice for their attentiveness in her final days.

A special memorial service and celebration of Kathleen’s life will be held in the Chapel of Wesleyan at Scenic in Goergetown, Texas at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 1, 2012.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Kathleen’s memory to Wesleyan Volunteers.
