

Pearl M. Thompson , age 82, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Amarillo, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in Round Rock, Texas. She was born November 16, 1928 in Canadian, Texas to parents William Coy and Rachel Eva Merydith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy E. Thompson; parents, W. Coy and Rachel Merydith and brother, Edward Merydith.
Pearl is survived by her devoted son, Matthew Thompson, his wife Tammy and beloved grandchildren Tyler Thompson, Tara Thompson and Nora Thompson of Round Rock, Texas; two sisters, Peggy Urban of Amarillo, Texas and Joyce Hodges of Kilmarnock, Virginia; nieces, Debbie Herrington and husband Danny Spearman, Texas, Sheryl Nichols and husband Garland of Amarillo, Texas, Becky Munsell and husband Dusty of Calumet, Oklahoma, Linda Smith and husband Mitch of Perryton, Texas, Jan Ryan and husband Art of Richmond, Virginia, Kelly Page and husband Ryan of Abilene, Texas; nephews, John Duke of Darrouzett, Texas, Kevin Duke and wife Sherri of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bill Merydith of Perryton, Texas and Doug Hall and wife Kristi of Bixby, Oklahoma, as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by her faithful canine companion Laddie, and dear friends Bud and Lynn Duval.
Mrs. Thompson was born into a ranching family in the Texas Panhandle and enjoyed her childhood spent at Valley Park Ranch on the Wolf Creek. She married the love of her life, LeRoy E. Thompson in 1951, and they made their home in Amarillo where their only child Matthew was born in 1958. Pearl was the President of the Amarillo Board of Realtors in 1981 and co–owner of Creative Home Brokers of Amarillo, Texas. After retiring, Pearl and LeRoy moved to Sun City to be nearer their grandkids. Pearl was an active volunteer with her church and PALS. She enjoyed walking her dog and being a part of all the activities of her grandchildren.
Mrs. Thompson’s family would especially like to thank Personal Attendant Linda Nichols, and all her kind ladies for their loving care and dedication to “Miss Pearl”.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 28, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church of Georgetown with Reverend Brenda Adkins officiating.
