

Philip Houston Pack passed away on December 31, 2011 at St. David’s Hospital in Georgetown, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents Dawn and Ava Pack, and brothers Bernard, Norman and Donald Pack. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Denease, and their children; daughter Cara, and daughter Dana and her husband Thomas Lott. He was affectionately referred to as “Papaw” by his grandson Anthony and wife Bristol, granddaughter Savanna, his great grandchildren Kristen, Mallory and Ryan and our dear friend Georgia Hambrook. Philip is also survived by his brother Gary Pack and wife Fern, brother Larry Pack and wife Sharon, and sisters-in-law Bonnie Pack, Beverly Pack and Geraldine Pack.
Philip was born on September 23, 1929 in Carter, Kentucky and spent his childhood with his loving family in Chillicothe, Ohio. After graduating from Chillicothe High School, he earned his degree in Business Administration from the University of Ohio. He then honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Philip worked for Shell Oil company for thirty years before retiring to Georgetown, Texas.
His passions in life were fishing, woodworking and philanthropy. He was a selfless man who took great pleasure in helping anyone who needed it. He loved to entertain and enjoy the company of his family and many friends, and was loved by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 14th at 12:00 noon at Cook Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628. A life celebration will follow the memorial service at the Packs’ home in Georgetown. A memorial service in Kentucky is also being planned to be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Caring Place in Georgetown.
