Regina obtained her First School Leaving Certificate from Holy Child Convent School in Ukana Nsasak in 1952. She then got her Teacher Grade Three Certificate in 1957 from the Holy Child Convent in Ifuho and began working as a teacher. After she began teaching, Regina completed her Grade Two Teaching training course at the St. Agnes Training College Kaduna from 1960 to 1961.
Her teaching position in the Northern region of Nigeria was cut short due to the outbreak of The Nigeria-Biafra Civil War. However, during the war, Regina worked as a Refugee Teacher in the Biafran Enclave, moving from Enugu to Aba.
Throughout her career, Regina attended many workshops, training programs and in-service courses to expand her teaching skills. In 1992, she retired as a Principal Assistant Superintendent of Primary School in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area.
Although Regina spent most of her time teaching, she made time to give back to her community. She was a member and a former president of the Knights of St. John, Ikot Ekpene Diocese; a life member of her local Catholic Women Organization and later became the president for 9 years; a member of the Blue Army, a former president of St. Anthony Guild; and a Matron for the St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Ikot Ekpene from 1985 to 1988 and 1998 until she left Nigeria for the United States in 2001.
Here in the United States, she was a member of Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church and supported a variety of Charity groups as her health permitted.
Regina is survived by 4 children and 7 grandchildren. She is a loving parent and devoted most of her life to caring for her kids, grandchildren and children all over the globe that had the opportunity to interact with her.
