

Rhetta Jane Sanders, an esteemed member of the Georgetown, Texas, community, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, at the age of 84. Rhetta was born on February 13, 1941, in Colorado City, Texas, and over the years she has touched countless lives with her warmth and compassion. Though her earthly journey has concluded, her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Rhetta’s life was rich with love and dedication. She was married to Dave Sanders on November 25, 1960, a union that lasted until his passing on April 5, 2001. Together, they shared a beautiful family and she carried forward his legacy with grace. On December 23, 2006, Rhetta found love again with Larry Bane, cherishing their marriage until his passing on December 29, 2013. Throughout these chapters of her life, Rhetta exemplified resilience and commitment, always holding her family close to her heart.
Rhetta was immensely proud of her role as a mother and grandmother. Her children, Lori Webb (Kelly) and the late David Sanders Jr. (Meredith), were her pride and joy. Her loving legacy extends through her grandchildren—Bailey Murphy (Kody), Nolan Escover (Kaleigh), Marleigh Lowe (Sutton), Keeli Escover, Sarah Sanders, and Jake Webb—and continues with her great-granddaughter, Emma Murphy.
Carrying an enduring strength and an infectious spirit, Rhetta thrived in both her professional and personal contributions to society. At Sanders Oil Company, she was a steadfast partner to Dave, contributing significantly to the company’s success. Her career path then led her to the Georgetown Hospital, where she served with dedication in the Human Resources department. Her final professional chapter culminated as an evidence technician at the Williamson County Attorney’s Office, where she retired with a sense of fulfillment.
Rhetta was actively involved in her community and a cherished member of Celebration Church in Georgetown, where she found solace and joy in her faith. Her Christianity provided her with comforting guidance throughout her life. Those who knew her saw in her a caring and giving nature, whether she was offering support to a friend or opening her heart to her family.
Rhetta was predeceased by her beloved parents, Myrtle and Lester Biggs, her brother, Todd Biggs, and her husbands, Dave Sanders and Larry Bane. She is survived by her brother, Reid Biggs, and her sister, Nelda Hestand, who will miss her dearly.
Rhetta Jane Sanders’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and faith. As we remember her, let us carry forward her legacy of generosity and kindness. She remains forever in our hearts, an enduring symbol of grace and unwavering strength.
Visitation will be held at Cook Walden funeral home in Georgetown Texas from 5-7PM on Tuesday March 11. The graveside service will be at IOOF Cemetery in Georgetown Texas at 11:00AM on Wednesday March 12.
