I worked with Richard Zipp at North Sheperd Sub-Station and it was a blessing to have known him.  May God bless and keep the Zipp Family.

 I worked with Richard at HPD for many years he was good friend. Richard will be missed. Nelda will need all of our prayers during this difficult time. 
  

I worked with Richard at the North Shepherd Station. He was a great guy and great officer.

Richard and I worked together at the Houston Police Department.  He was a good man, A good Officer.  It was an honor.  My condolences to his family and friends.  Rest In Peace, brother, you will be missed.

Richard and I were in HPD academy class #56. We were Marines and ran into each other from time to time during our 20 years with the department. The streets of Heaven are a little safer today, another Marine has reported for duty.

Richard and I became fast friends at Weight Watchers several years ago. We especially bonded because we were the only two males among the females. Richard became a Lifetime Member of Weight Watchers and he was an inspiration to others trying to lose weight. Richard could walk long distances and he passed by our home many times. Richard professed his love for the Lord to me on many occasions. I really enjoyed our time together and I'm glad that Richard was part of my life on this journey. My heartfelt condolences to Nelda, and may she feel love from friends and family during this difficult time.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Zipp family during this difficult time. Richard was a good man and I know he will be deeply missed. It was an honor to have served with him. Please accept my sincere condolences and may God grant you strength in the days ahead. Semper Fi Marine

My husband and I met Richard and Nelda at church several years ago and he took my husband under his wing.  He always said Dane was like a son to him and Dane looked up to him as a father.  He had the best humor and a "what you see is what you get" attitude which is what we loved about him!  He was not one to walk into church pretending to be someone he wasn't.  He loved Nelda with all of his heart and they were precious together.  We are so blessed to have him come into our lives and so thankful that Dane was able to see him last week.  He will be missed by our entire family!

Richard took me under his wing and trained me when I joined the Police Honor Guard.  He had a lot of patience and always wanted to see you succeed.

 I met Officer Zipp a long time ago when he was working Vice. I recall that he was a good officer, very nice and was easy to get along with. Condolences to the family. RIP

My wife and I met Richard and his wonderful wife Nelda, 4 years ago on a cruise out of Baltimore into Canada.  Small world as he was retired HPD and I was current. An amazing couple and truly blessed to have known Richard for the short time. Our deepest sympathy and many prayers going out to the family right now.  May you rest in peace good buddy

I worked with Richard when he was a Patrol Officer with HPD on the nightshift at N. Shepherd. Great guy with a wonderful sense of humor. I learned a lot from him.

I worked with Deputy Zipp at the Harris County Sheriff's Office in the Courts Division.  We worked several trials together during the 5-6 years our careers overlapped. I always enjoyed hearing stories about how and where he grew up, stories of his service in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, and stories of his service with the Houston Police Department.  We created a few stories of our own that I hope he shared with others as time passed.  He was a good man, and a true American Hero!!  He will be missed!!
