Scott Douglas Hughes

Scott Douglas Hughes, 31 of Georgetown, died with his son, early Sunday morning, June 20, 2010 in a tragic lake accident. Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, Texas 78628. A service of Thanksgiving and Celebration will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 11:00AM at Faith Lutheran Church, 4010 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628. Scott will be laid to rest with his son at IOOF Cemetery, Georgetown, Texas. Scott was born September 3, 1978 in Waldorf, Maryland to George Francis and Beverley Joy Wright Hughes. Scott graduated from Broadneck High School, Arnold Maryland in 1996. Scott was very athletic; he enjoyed Rugby, Wrestling, and Competitive Horse riding. He competed as a wrestler both in high school and in college. After graduation, he entered the United States Military Academy at West Point. Scott graduated from West Point in 2000 with his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and went on to serve his country honorably in the US Army. After his military service Scott has worked for Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceutical Company as a Pharmaceutical Salesman. Scott loved to be outdoors and enjoyed building ponds and stocking them. He took great pride in the pond he had at his home. Scott is preceded in death by his son, Ethan Scott Hughes; his maternal grandparents, George and Shirley Wright; his paternal grandmother, Audrey Hughes; his uncle, Walter Hughes; and his nephew, Dillon Thane Schwartz. Scott leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Stacy Lynne Hughes; his twin daughters, Ella and Eva Hughes; his parents, George and Beverley Hughes; his brother and sister, Peter Hughes and his wife Samantha and Cheryl Madden and her husband Russell; his uncle, Charlie and Marianne Hughes; his aunt, Lorraine Emery-Wright and her husband, Reverend Steve; his father and mother in law, Keith and Mildred Phillips; along with many other loving family members and friends.
