On Saturday, August 26, 2017, Mrs. Sheila Margaret Fitzgerald passed away at her home in Georgetown, Texas. Born March 22, 1937 in Dorchester, England, she is survived by her husband of 60 years, LTC (ret) James F. Fitzgerald; daughter, Eileen; sons, Russ and Mike; and six grandchildren. Her oldest son, Jim, passed away in 2014.
She was a true Renaissance woman with many diverse talents, traveling the world with her military husband and family in tow.
Sheila loved dogs, and was active for many years in the American Kennel Club (AKC) and Cairn Terrier Club of America (CTCA), and was a professional handler and breeder of West Highland White Terriers and Cairn Terriers. Over the years, Sheila produced many dogs that went on to be champions. She was known within the professional dog circles as the “go to person” as an expert on breeding, showing and raising Cairn Terriers.
A memorial service is planned at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. (CST).
The family has asked that donations be made to the Williamson County Animal Shelter in her memory in lieu of flowers.
