After graduation from pharmacy school in 1968 he served in the Public Health Service for three years. Following his service he worked briefly in retail pharmacy before beginning a thirty year career with Abbott Laboratories.
Al is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn; daughter, Kim Gogulski and husband David; son, Gregg Shick; and daughter, Danielle Lippold and husband James. He was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren, Erin, Emma and Ethan Gogulski, and Kendall and Nolan Lippold. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Ann Arnett.
A family memorial service was held on June 14, 2020 at the Worship Place in Georgetown, Texas.
