Funeral Service for Mrs. Shirley Evon Cobb, 65, of Brooklyn will be held at New Providence Baptist Church in Paul, AL at 12pm on Wednesday, August 11th, 2021 with Bro. Ken Mancil officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cobb Family Cemetery. Mrs. Cobb passed away peacefully with family surrounding her on August 8th, 2021 in Georgiana, AL.
Shirley was born on September 21st of 1955 in Andalusia AL to James Terry and Avis Terry. She was a lifelong resident of Brooklyn, AL. She was an active member of the volunteer fire department and an avid race fan. She was happily married to her life partner of 49 years, Clayton Cobb Jr.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Clayton Cobb Jr.; sisters Diane Musgrove of Opp, AL, Burnice Bullock (Lavon) of Loango, AL, and Wanda McClain (Bill) of Paul, AL; brother James Terry of Enterprise, AL; sisters-in-law Colleen Childress and Suzzette Childress both of Mobile, AL; brother-in-law Richard Cobb (Norma); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents James and Avis Terry.
Pallbearers will be Richard Cobb, Steve Childress, Mark Bullock, Kayla Higdon, Paul Matthews, and Clint Cobb. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Butler, Marshall Harrison, and Gary Wayne Pate.
