Steve Maxon Fraser passed away on September 17, 2020 at the age of 69 surrounded by his loving caretakers at the Georgiana Health and Rehabilitation long-term care facility. Steve loved photography, pizza, the music of Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton, traveling near and far, Auburn football, and people of all walks of life. He was a friend to everyone (even Alabama fans) and would happily spend his time chatting about everything and nothing at all. Steve had a wonderful sense of humor and was quick to smile and tell a joke, even if it was at his own expense.
Steve was born in Cleveland, OH and spent much of his youth there but he did live briefly in São Paulo, Brazil and Mexico City. Even if he was born elsewhere and lived around the world, Alabama was always home. He lived in Georgiana and Greenville separately for the majority of his life.
He is predeceased by his parents Vert and Rena. He is survived by his sister Lin Fraser, brother in law Ron King, nephew James King (all of San Francisco, CA), his guardian angel, Judy Smith (of McKenzie, AL), several cousins around the country, and his many friends in Greenville and Georgiana. We will all miss him dearly.
Services will be Thursday, June 3rd at 2pm at Magnolia Cemetery in Greenville with Bro. Randy Harvill officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Steve's family requests donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (https://www.michaeljfox.org/donate), the University of Alabama at Birmingham Coronavirus Response Fund (https://www.uab.edu/fightcovid19/impact), or the charity of your choice
