Alice Jean Hamburger

Her memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 10:30 am at First United Methodist Church of Gering with Rev Bethann Black and Pastor Bev Russell officiating. Inurnment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery. Cremation has taken place. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.geringchapel.com. Gering Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with services.

Alice Jean was born on June 20, 1927 along with twin sister Jane in Gering, Nebraska to Jeremiah and Elma Pauline (Catlett) Steele. She graduated from Gering High School.

On June 26, 1955, she married Lawrence Edmund Hamburger at the First United Methodist Church in Gering, Nebraska and made their home in Gering.

She was a Librarian for many years. Jean enjoyed sewing, crafts, church activities and “walking”.

Survivors include her daughter Debra J Nickal; granddaughter Cassondra (Bryant) Vann; twin sister Jane Brown and sister Carol Pruden both of Texas, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, 3 brothers, son Garrett and son-in-law Ronald Gross.
