Mary Ann Peterson

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 10:00 am at Gering Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery. No visitation, casket will be closed. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.geringchapel.com.

Mary Ann was born on September 15, 1929, at Bridgeport, Nebraska. Her parents were Bill and Demitra Vassos. She grew up on a farm with five older brothers. Mary Ann married Dale Peterson on September 7, 1950. She worked at the Gibson’s Store in Scottsbluff beginning in the mid 1960’s. She and Dale owned and operated Bayard Plumbing and Heating from 1972-1979. She later worked at Walmart in Scottsbluff for 12 years.

Mary took great pride in her work and was liked and admired by her co-workers. She treated everyone with kindness and understanding. Throughout her life she was a devoted friend to many people. Her honesty and generosity were well known by those close to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers and all her in laws.

Mary Ann is survived by her son, Mike and many nieces and nephews, plus great nieces and nephews who loved her very much.
