We are very sad and yet pleased to know Mom had her prayers answered as she passed away June 15,2020 at Seaview Manor where is resided for over two years. Mom and her late husband Joseph lived in New Aberdeen and then at Valley View Seniors apartments for many years. She turned 100 years old in February of this year. Mom was the daughter of the late Peter and Pauline (Landry) MacDonald. In her earlier years she loved hockey and attended senior hockey games in Glace Bay, Sydney and North Sydney. She also had a love for bingo, but her real love and devotion was for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren. Mom was a hard worker and would help anyone who needed her. She was a member of Warden United Church. Mom is survived by daughter Pauline (Cyril) Barro, grandson Lowell (Colleen) Barro, Carl and Gary (Dawn) Jenkins, Ontario. Also survived by the lite of her life, great grandchildren Amanda and Kent Barro, great- great grandchildren Morgan and Connor , Florida. Also surviving is daughter-in-law Joan Jenkins and brother Malcolm. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, son Garfield, sisters Florence, Jennie, Muriel, Catherine, Helen and Mildred; brothers Charles (Greg), John and James. She had numerous relatives she thought were the best. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral home. Funeral arrangements will take place at a later date. Donations to a charity of ones choice can be made in her memory. “You teach, you praise, you hug, you encourage, you laugh, you live. But most of all you love and that’s the best thing any mother can be. Miss you Mom.
