

It is with great sadness and heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Sharon Boutilier at the age of 49 at the Glace Bay Integrated Hospital, 16th of September 2010 with her loving family by her side. Sharon was born in Glace Bay. She was the daughter of Edward and Alma (MacPherson) Buchanan of Glace Bay.
Sharon is survived by her husband John, as well as her children Eddy (Mary), Jonathan and Samantha.
Sharon is survived by five siblings, Kathy (Ira) Leforte of Upper Nine Mile River, Margaret Anne Buchanan (Dan) of Dominion, Mary (Earl) Beaton of Mira, Edwina (Dan) Muller of Strathmore, Alberta, and Lisa (Donald) MacKinnon, Glace Bay. Sharon a.k.a. Nannie Presents’ is also survived by her treasured grandchildren, Dylan, Brady, Brooke and Angel as well as many nieces, Danielle Leforte, Marci Buchanan, Mira Beaton, Almanda and Kayla Muller, Jillian MacKinnon and nephews Christopher Leforte, AJ. and Michael Pittman, Buchanan Beaton, Cameron Muller, Jeffrey (god son), and Liam MacKinnon. Sharon leaves behind her mother-in-law, Gwen Cole (Steve MacInnis).
Sharon completed her Hairdressing Certification at the Vocational School in 1978 and worked for a number of years at Vallies Hair, Sandy’s, Braemore Home, owner of the Tickle Trunk and home care worker with Charlotte’s Guest Home.
She will be sadly missed by a large extended family and many good and cherished friends. Her life was devoted to her family. Sharon always helped those in need, often doing without to do so. Earlier in life, weekends were spent watching Samantha’s’ cheerleading, Eddy’s basketball, and hockey and spending time with Jonathan, her pillar of strength. She was her children’s biggest fan.
Sharon gave selflessly to her children through uncompromising love,
support and care. She touched the lives of many children.
In her life she brought all her friends and family joy and laughter, which they will greatly miss. Those who knew her loved her dearly. Sharon’s passing leaves a void that is keenly felt by all and impossible to fill. Sharon’s life will be remembered and celebrated on Monday, 20th of September, 2010 with visitation from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Patten’s Funeral Home in Glace Bay. Funeral mass will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, 21st of September, 2010 at Patten’s Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Leo Boone Officiating. Cremation has taken place.
