Brenda Elaine Boutilier

1962-2012

It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Brenda Elaine ( MacLeod) Boutilier, 50 of Glace Bay. She passed away on Saturday, August 11,2012 at her home, surrounded by her loving husband and family.

Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of Marion (Borgal MacLeod) MacPhee and the late William “Doss” MacLeod. Brenda is survived by her husband of 30 years ,Kirk, son, Brandon and step father, Neil MacPhee. Also surviving are sisters; Debbie (John), Karen (Willie), Donna (Greg)and brothers; Kenny (Helen) Wayne (Brenda), stepsisters; Rhonda, Cathy , Lesley, mother in law, Jean Boutilier, sister in law, Jeannie Boutilier, grandmother, Ann MacLeod, step grandmother, Rhoda Cameron and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Brenda was a very caring person who loved family gatherings, her cats and her flowers.

Brenda was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Joe and Edna Borgal (Harris) and step grandfather, Jacob harris and her paternal grandfather William (Bill) MacLeod, aunt Jean French and uncles, Eric MacLeod , Sheldon Borgal and father in law, Jim Boutilier and brother in law, Warren Boutilier.

Special and heartfelt thanks goes out to all Brenda’s caregivers, especially her sister in law, Helen MacLeod, staff of palliative care, the VON and the doctors and nurses on 4A of the C.B. Regional Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the palliative care society.

Visitation for Brenda will be held on Thursday, August 16,2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union Street, Glace Bay with funeral service on Friday at 2:00 pm in St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Port Caledonia with Rev. Judy Phillip’s officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
