

Born in Glace Bay to the late Fred and Irene Parsons, she married our dad in 1949 and moved to Port Morien, where they raised their family.
Mom was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church in Port Morien where she was a dedicated member of St. Paul's Guild. Mom was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and baking for all of her appreciative family. As the rock of the family, she was adored and respected by all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Weldon in 2004, sisters Alice, Eva, Ivy and her brother Fred.
She is survived by her children Fred (Jane), Valerie (Eric), Louis (Karen), Keith (Shelly), Melissa (Wayne) and Karen (Kevin) and also grandchildren Erica, Kris, Dale, Erin, Matthew, Jamie, Kristy, Lisa, Brian, Megan and Kory as well as 13 great grandchildren. Momis also survived by brothers Jim (Pat), Glen (Diane) sister Florence and sister-in-law Shirley as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom spent the last year and a half at Victoria Haven Nursing Home in Glace Bay where she made many friends who cared for her.
The family would like to thank the residents and staff for the care given to mom.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 5th from 7pm until 9pm at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union Street, Glace Bay. Funeral Service will take place at St Paul's Anglican Church in Port Morien at 2pm on Monday, July 6th with interment to follow in St. Paul's Cemetery in Black Brook.
