With great sadness, we the family announce the sudden passing of George Bert MacQueen (67) of Port Caledonia on August 18, 2026, with his faithful Luna by his side. George was born on February 6, 1959, in Bridgeport to Margaret (Harn) and James MacQueen.
George was an electrician by trade, spending most of his career in or around coal mining. George is survived by is wife of 45 years Annie (Murrant), his daughters Cynthia MacQueen and Amy (Francie) Buchanan, his grandchildren Jacob and Emma, his brother Jack (Elaine) MacQueen, sisters-in-law Marilyn MacQueen and Gwen Clarke, his fur babies Luna and Sasha, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. George was predeceased by his brother Robert, sister Alice Vokey and brother-in-law Jerry Vokey.
George was a family man who loved the outdoors. His piece of Heaven was the bungalow at The Point’s West Bay, spending hours hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR. His biggest pride and joy were his daughters and grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Friday, August 28, from 2 until 4 & 7 until 9pm at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St. A funeral service will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Port Caledonia on Saturday, August 29 at 1:00pm.
