Born in Glace Bay he was the son of the late Moses and Susanna (Groves) Morgan.
In George’s younger years he was employed with Bobby Guy’s IGA in New Aberdeen, then for 35 years he was employed with M&B Wholesales.
Surviving are his wife Diane, daughter Katherine (Murray) Nightingale, son David (Tania Lussier) Morgan, 3 grandchildren Breton, Cody, and Carlee, brother Fred (Carolyn) Morgan and Aunt Lil Talbot.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by 2 sisters Laura and Shirley.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home 71 Union St, Glace Bay. Service will be held on Monday September 8, 2014 at Warden United Church 2pm.
