Gregory Allan Slade

It is with great sorrow and pain that we announce the sudden passing of Mr Gregory (Greg) Allan Slade, aged 62 of Sydney NS formerly of Glace Bay. Greg passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the Halifax Infirmary CCU. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Angus Slade and Edie (Mac Donald) Slade. He was employed by the Nova Scotia Provincial Housing Agency and thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone there.

Left to mourn are his partner Dorothy Confiant, his son Michael (Jen), his daughters Katrina (Mike) and Samantha, and their mother Martha Taylor, his two sisters Wendy and Tammy (Scott) and his three brothers Kevin, Kenny and Ernie (Margie), his granddaughter and light of his life Maddox, and his extended family of Dana, Jesse and Ellie, Darren and Bre and Ronan and Sophie and many nieces and nephews who adore Uncle Greg.

Greg’s greatest pleasures in life were spending time with Maddox whenever he could, FaceTime calls with Katrina or Michael, lunches with Samantha or watching a Leafs game with Ernie.

Visitation for the late Gregory (Greg) Allan Slade will take place on Thursday, July 11 at Patten Funeral Home from 5 pm till 7 pm with Funeral Services held on Friday, July 12 at Patten Funeral Home at 11am, with Celebrant Andrew Chapman. Donations may be made to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
