It is with Broken Hearts that we, the family of Laura Marsden-Harpell announce her peaceful passing on February 04, 2015 at Harbourstone Enchanted Care surrounded by her loving family in her 86th year.

Mom worked for over 20 years in the labs at the Glace Bay General Hospital until her retirement. Mom’s passion in life was spending time with her family, cooking and baking for them. Mom loved her flower garden, knitting and quilting. She was a person who put everyone else before herself. She was kind and generous and more than willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. She was Post Mistress, Worthy Mistress and Post County Mistress of the LOBA Lodge.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Albert Bridge Fire Department and the Seniors Club of Louisbourg.

Besides her parents, Laura was predeceased by her first husband of 54 years, Kenneth Marsden, son David and one son and daughter at birth.
Knowing we are a family of strong faith, Mom is now reunited with her family that has gone before her.

Laura: someone who is happy, friendly and likeable; an individual who loves children, has the fidelity of a close friend; an unobtrusive, faithful lady with eyes that sparkle with mischief!
That was our Mom!
