Lester Turner

It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Lester Turner, 91, at the North Side Community Guest Home on July 2, 2022. Born in Homeville, he was the son of the late Alvin and Laura Turner.

Lester lived most of his life in Mira Gut. He was employed with Shaw MacDonald for many years. Lester is survived by sister Mary Kennedy (Terry), brother Charles, sisters in law Marilyn and Sandra, brothers in law Ian (Donna), Donald and Fred (Pat). Lester is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Lester is predeceased by his wife of 62 years Gwen, brothers Roy, Arthur, Douglas, and William, sisters Florence, Doris and Mildred.

We would like to thank the staff of the Northside Community Guest Home for the excellent care and compassion shown to Lester the last three years. Cremation has taken place under the care of Patten Funeral home in Glace Bay. A private family burial will take place at a later date in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
