It is with heartfelt sadness that we the family announce the passing of a loving mother and grandmother, Louise June Peck on January 13, 2025 at the CBRH Palliative care unit with loving family at her side.
Born in Glace Bay she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Evans.
Mom was employed for over 40 years as an RN at the Glace Bay General Hospital and a member of the Nurse’s alumni. She was also a life time member of Warden United Church along with the UCW. Mom had such a love for life, she enjoyed travel, music, quilting, crafts, cooking, baking and had a great love for Christmas, but her greatest love in life was her children and grandchildren, Mom truly loved her family.
She is survived by daughters Terry Delaney (Barry) and Lisa Ruddy (Mark); sons Darrell and Brad (Norma); grandchildren Carson, Sarah, David (Alyson), Lauren, Carling (Caleb); sister in laws Thelma and Gertrude and Richard Evans who held a very special place in her heart.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband Carl; brothers Daniel and James; daughter in law Murrina Ryan; sister in laws Louise, Jean, Daisy and Lillian; brother in laws Norman, William and Delbert.
In following mom’s wishes cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home; visitation will take place on Thursday Jan 16, 2025 from 5-7pm in Patten Funeral Home Glace Bay. Funeral service will be held in Glace Bay United Church 44 5th St Glace Bay, on Friday Jan 17 at 1pm with Rev. Dana Feltmelt officiating.
