Born in Port Morien, she was the daughter of Dan R. and Cassie (Holmes) MacDonald. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and the last surviving member of her immediate family. She adored and cherished her family and loved them unconditionally. She loved to cook and bake and you never left her home without lunch and a cup of tea. Margaret enjoyed playing cards, skating and dancing with the love of her life, Wilburn.
Margaret, the heart of her family, hosted countless family gatherings which were spent laughing and sharing stories around the kitchen table, especially during the much loved tradition of celebrating New Year’s Day together “at Nan’s”.
In her younger years, Margaret was a member of St. John’s United Church, Port Morien, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and was a CGIT leader. Later, she became a life-long member of Chalmer’s United Church, Dominion, and active UCW member until its closing, subsequently attending Warden United.
Margaret is survived by her devoted children son Wayne (Loretta); daughters Debbie and Heather (Paul); sister-in-law Ellen Mackenzie; brother-in-law Ed McLeod; her much loved grandchildren Amanda (Scott), Troy (Amy), Jennifer (Evan), Sarah, Cassie (Liam), John Angus, Melissa (Jacob) and Emily (Andy); great grandchildren Chase, Brayden, Nevaeh, Ethan, Bryce, Blake, Logan and Lydia, all of whom she had a special relationship, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom will also be remembered by her neighbor and good friend Bernice McCormick.

God gives each of us
A beautiful guardian angel;
And as we grow,
We give her a name…
