Mary Loretta McNeil

We the family regret to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and sister Mary Loretta McNeil, who died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at the Halifax Infirmary on February 11,2017.

Mary devoted her life to her family and to God, living selflessly, only for others. She was a very warm and genuine individual, who always had a pot of tea on, and a place at her table for anyone who needed it.

Mary had great faith, she enjoyed attending Mass and Daily Prayer.

Mary turned her house into a home, for not only her children and grandchildren but also for many others.

Her loving and generous heart continues to give, even after death by providing the gift of life through organ donation.

Mary is survived by son Tommy (Roseanne), daughter Katherine; three sisters Dorothy, Kathy and Donna Marie (Jerry); brother Gerard (Denise); six grandchildren Ivy, George Thomas (GT), Chloe, Christopher, Devon and Lincoln and numerous nieces and nephews including special niece Ashley.

She was predeceased by parents Donald and Kathleen, her husband Tom, two brothers Donald Charlie and Donnie, also one grandchild Michael Anthony.

Visitation for Mary will take place on Sunday February 19,2017 from 2-4 and 7-9pm in Patten Funeral Home 71 Union St Glace Bay. Funeral service will be held on Monday February 20 at 10am in St. Anne’s Church Glace Bay.
