Thomas Ambrose Shea

Ambrose will be lovingly remembered by his two children Donna Shea and Stephen (Denise) Shea and their mother (Sharon Davidson), partner (Anne Kelly), grandchildren Kristyna, Ryan, Matthew and Cameron, great grandson Nolan, sister Marilyn (Lou) Zec, and brothers Greg (Barb) Shea, Jerry (Donna) Shea, Danny (Sheila) Shea, Gary (April) Shea and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including his lifelong friend Jerry (Jane) Yates.

He is predeceased by his wife of 31 years Tena (Boutilier), parents Tom and Cleo Shea, sister Iris Sparrow and brothers Paul Shea and Francis Shea.

Those who knew Ambrose will remember his remarkable generosity. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and even strangers. He had a special place in his heart for the underdog, and if there was a way to help someone, he would. He never forgot a birthday, and he worked hard to stay connected with the people he cared about, no matter how near or far they lived.

Those who spent time with Ambrose will fondly remember his quick wit and wonderful sense of humour. He was a natural storyteller who could captivate a room, whether recounting family memories, sharing tales from years gone by, or finding humour in everyday life. His stories often became family favourites, retold and cherished for years. He had a special ability to make people feel at ease and to remind everyone not to take life too seriously.

Above all else, Ambrose will be remembered for his extraordinary gift of music. Although he never learned to read music, he possessed a rare talent for playing entirely by ear. He could hear almost any song and recreate it on the guitar, piano, or banjo with remarkable ease. His music filled homes, family gatherings, parties, and local pubs with laughter and joy for decades. Even the week before he passed, he was still sharing his music with those around him.

While our hearts are saddened by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that his music lives on—in the songs he played, in the people he taught, and in the countless memories he created. His kindness, generosity, and unmistakable musical spirit will remain with all who knew and loved him.
