Born in Glace Bay he was the son of the late John and Abigail (Milley) Aucoin.
In William’s younger years he served his country with the Black Watch out of Gagetown NB. Following his military service he received his mechanic papers were he worked for Toyota, Chrysler , and Nova Scotia Power until his retirement. William also spent 25 years serving as a volunteer Fire Fighter with the Donkin Volunteer Fire Department.
William had a great passion for antique cars, he enjoyed working on them with his friends and following the car shows. He had a love for the outdoors he enjoyed fishing and camping and also had a great love for listening to Bluegrass Music.
William is survived by loving wife Donna (Gabriel); sons Blake (Nancy), Brent (Brenda) and Derrick (MaryAnn); grandchildren Jeremy, Kelsea, Jarrod, Christopher and Derek and great grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by son John Ashton Aucoin and brother Johnny.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Thursday February22,2018 from 1-2pm in Patten Funeral Home 71 Union St Glace Bay with funeral service to follow at 2pm in Patten Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Bob Biggar officiating.
