She is survived by a brother, 1st Sergeant Ernest (Bud) Mosby; sister, Lynn Mosby Barth; daughter, Debbie Ryan; daughters-in-law, Janet Ryan & Mary Ryan; grandsons, Jared & Blake Ryan and their families; granddaughters Olivia Smith, Hannah Gunter, Samantha Ryan & their families; many nieces, nephews & great nieces & great nephews.
A lifelong resident of Clay County, Missouri, Beverly dedicated her life to leadership, advocacy, and service. For over 30 years, she served as Public Administrator of Clay County, helping shape policies and improve lives. She was a charter member and co-founder of the Missouri Association of Public Administrators (MAPA) and became its first president in 1981, and served a second term in 1994. Her tireless work earned her the first-ever Public Administrator of the Year Award in 1998.
Beverly also co-founded Tri-County Mental Health Services now Beacon Mental Health, Northland Community Services Coalition, and Northland Professionals in Aging. Advocacy in these and many other organizations led to Beverly being awarded the prestigious Claude Pepper Award in 1995 by the Northland Professionals in Aging.
Leadership in her spiritual life was very important to this woman of faith. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church of North Kansas City, where she served as a deacon, board member, taught Sunday School and was an active participant in many aspects of church life. She sang in the choir often alongside her siblings, and championed events such as Last Supper reenactments, and children’s Christmas programs. She never hesitated to step in whether it was sewing costumes or decorating for the holidays.
She was always involved - Rainbow Girls, taught piano lessons, getting Gary & Mike to their sporting events, attending Shriner parades or dinners, helping with girl scout activities, making dance costumes, & organizing her high school class reunions. For several years she managed the block of Kansas City Chiefs tickets shared by the family. Beverly’s love for her family and friends was unwavering. She rarely missed a sporting event for grandsons, Jared and Blake, or a performance for granddaughters, Olivia and Hannah—even if it meant driving to Bentonville and back in a day.
Beverly was a pillar in every community she touched. Whether it was her family, church family, professional colleagues, or high school classmates, she stayed connected, invested, and involved. She led with kindness, gave generously, and lived fully. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held at First Christian Church of North Kansas City, 2018 Gentry, North Kansas City, MO 64116 on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Visitation will be in the church foyer at 12:30. The service will follow at 1:30 in the sanctuary with Reverend Tammy Eaton officiating.
