

He was a beloved husband to Jocelyn Highfill, 39, Father to Damien Highfill, 15, Darlene Highfill, 14, son to Brian Highfill, 63, Brother to Heather Denison, 39, Uncle to Collin Denison, Aubrey Smith, Xavier Caude, Alexis Caude, and Avery Hoops, and friends.
Brett was born at Providence Hospital in KCK, he went to school at Welborn Elementary, West Middle, Maple Park Middle and Winnetonka High school.
Brett started dating his sister’s best friend, Jocelyn in 2000. 4 years later they got married on September 16, 2005. Shortly after that came their son, Damien in 2007, and not long after came their daughter, Darlene in 2008.
Brett was employed at ABF for 11 years. He was a truck driver for many years and worked on the dock and did hosteling. He would tell people to call me D.H. for “Dropping Hook”.
Brett’s passions were fast cars, trying new restaurants, and cooking. He loved thunder storms, music, and taking his kids to new parks and movies. He liked to look at the stars and most importantly liked his box fans. He had a fan in every room in the house. If you were brave enough to touch one, he would always say “them fighting words”.
Brett was known for telling jokes, helping people out, and his wit. Brett leaves behind a strong family that vows to remember the joy he gave us and to carry on his legacy.
