Carol Y. Mavel, 79, of Kansas City, MO passed away January 19, 2015. Carol was born August 29, 1935 in Jamesport, MO to the late Walter and Dorothy Hartley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Mavel. Carol loved her family and helping people. She enjoyed being a nurse, taking cruises and traveling with her husband, Frank. Carol also enjoyed sewing and quilting. She graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, MO and from Missouri Western State Collage with her RN degree. Survivors include her children, Cathy (Roger) Tortorilla of Gladstone, MO, Frank (Debbie) Mavel of Lawson, MO, Allen (Dawna) Mavel of Ashland, MO and Kevin R. Mavel of Lawson, MO; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and her sister, Eleanor (Dick) Hopper of Wentzville, MO. Memorial Services 2:00pm Sunday January 25, 2015 White Chapel Gladstone, MO. Inurnment White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
