Charles Scott Phillips, known affectionately to all as Scott, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, in Kansas City, surrounded by the love of his family. A lifelong resident of Kansas City, Scott was a man whose life was defined by quiet strength, an unrelenting work ethic, and an unwavering devotion to those he loved.
Scott was a hardworking man through and through. As a self-employed diesel mechanic, he dedicated countless hours to his craft, providing for his family with a sense of pride and determination. He was known for his "no-nonsense" approach to life—he never complained, never backed down from a challenge, and simply kept going until the job was done.
While he was a mechanic by trade, his true life’s work was his family. Scott was the devoted husband of his beloved wife, Juanita, with whom he shared 41 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a home centered on laughter, loyalty, and mutual support.
He was a proud father to his daughter, Denise, and a cherished grandfather to Jessie, Phillip, and Ashley. Scott’s joy only grew with the arrival of his nine great-grandchildren: Mariah, Bella, Elias, Skottie, Vickie, DJ, Frankie, Charlie, and Dannie. To them, he was the "best Papa"—a man who showed his love through his constant presence, his generosity, and a healthy dose of spoiling.
When he wasn’t under the hood of a truck, Scott was a passionate sports fan. He loved nothing more than cheering on his favorite football and basketball teams. Some of his family’s most treasured memories include:
Friday Nights: Gathering around the TV to watch wrestling with Juanita and the grandkids.
Family Outings: Taking the whole crew out to enjoy quality time together.
Quiet Moments: Simply being the steady, kind presence his family could always lean on.
Scott will be remembered as a man who gave everything and asked for nothing in return. His kindness and strength leave a lasting mark on the Kansas City community and a legacy of love that will live on through his children and grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE ANTIOCH RD, GLADSTONE, MO 64119, US, on March 30, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
