She was born May 9, 1952, in Lawrence Kansas to parents Joe Dunham and Arletta (Gibler) Dunham.
Cherryl was a graduate of North Kansas City High School, where she met her husband of 53 years, Robert Axtell. She was known to her family as “Ma”. She enjoyed holidays, traveling with her husband, and spoiling her grandchildren.
Cherryl was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Axtell, and her grandson, Ryan Turner.
Cherry is survived by her husband, Robert Axtell, her daughter and son-in-law, Rochelle and Lawrence Stumph, her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jaimie Axtell, her daughter, Stephanie Axtell, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home, located at 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO, 64119, on September 24, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 2:00 pm., interment will follow.
