Daniel I. Wantland, 89, born November 17, 1924, passed away October 23, 2014. Funeral services will be 2pm, Monday, October 27, 2014 at White Chapel Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 67 years, Dorothy; son, Garry; and grandson, Christopher Wantland. Survivors include his 2 children, Robert (Janet) Wantland and Terry (Vicky) Wantland; daughter-in-law, Mary Wantland; 4 grandchildren, Lance, Travis and Bobby Wantland and Sharmin Calwell; and numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dan was a veteran of WWII, was a rear gunman in the B-17 and retired from Corn Products CPC International after 38 years of service, in 1984. He was a Master Mason Alpha Lodge 659, private pilot, cabinet maker, and carpenter. Hobbies included Model A Club, playing his guitar, flying his plane, driving his race car in the 50’s and 60’s, fishing, hunting, and auto repair work, lately primarily on Model As.
