Dexter Kenneth Lloyd, 91, went to be with the Lord and the love of his life, Margaret, on July 26, 2014. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Winnwood Baptist, 4513 N Jackson Ave., Kansas City, MO 64117, with visitation one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or NorthCare Hospice House. Dexter was born on January 26, 1923 in Swifton, Arkansas, the son of John and Nancy (Hardin) Lloyd. Dexter was a United States Army veteran, serving many years for his country before his honorable discharge in February 1946. He was an active member of Winnwood Baptist Church for over 56 years and was involved with various organizations and ministries within and outside the church. Dexter will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brother and 6 sisters. He is survived by his son, Daniel Lloyd (Nancy), Kansas City; two grandchildren, Dawn Kendall (Robert) and Kenneth Lloyd (Amy) both of Kansas City; five great-grandchildren, Abby, Morgan and Paige Kendall, and Dylan and Jacob Lloyd, all of Kansas City; and one brother, George Lloyd of Seattle, WA.
