Born August 13, 1943, in Worthington, Minnesota, to Robert and Geraldine Spillman, Dwayne eventually made his home in Kansas City. He dedicated over 30 years of his career to working as a pressman at a local printing company.
Dwayne’s family remembers him as a true tinkerer; he was a man who could always be found building something new or fixing something old. When he wasn't working on a project, Dwayne loved attending concerts and cheering on the Kansas City Royals.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Geraldine; his siblings; and his grandson, Scott Bryant.
He is survived by his sons, Jason Spillman of Kansas City, Missouri, and Justin Spillman; his daughter, Dede Jones of Kansas City, Missouri; his grandchildren, Charles Jones, Hannah Spillman, and Hailey Nelson; and his great-grandchild, Michael Jones.
A graveside service will be held at White Chapel Cemetery, located at 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO, 64119, United States. The service is scheduled for January 5, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
