Frances "Fran" M. Martin

Mrs. Frances "Fran" M. Martin (Martinez), 71, died unexpectedly on February 28, 2023. Frances was born on July 8, 1951, in Kansas City, MO to Frank Martinez Sr. and Juanita Velasquez. She graduated from Northeast Highschool in 1969. Frances married James M. Martin Jr. in March of 1973 and moved to Gladstone, MO. The couple welcomed their only child, Garrick Martin, into the world in August of 1977. Frances worked for AT&T and held multiple positions over 35 years before finally retiring. In March of 2006, Frances started work with Marx Family Dental where she worked until her passing. Frances was a loving and nurturing mother and person that is remembered as a kind, gentle, patient, stubborn (at times) and extremely strong-willed mother who encouraged her children and family members to do everything they can to achieve their goals. Frances was accomplished as a baseball wife and mother. She was a generous and dedicated individual who loved reading and who was passionate about her family.

Frances is preceded in death by her husband James M. Martin Jr., parents Frank and Juanita Martinez, her brother and sister-in-law Frank and Stephanie Martinez.

Frances is survived by her sister Linda Martinez, son Garrick T. Martin, daughter-in-law Kristen A. Monroe, Grandchildren Cheyenne L. Martin, Addison H. Martin, Austin T. Monroe and Ethan M. Monroe, nephews Joshua Olvera, Alan Martinez and Alex Martinez; nieces Samantha Olvera, Courtney Neill and Isabel Martinez

The family would like to thank everyone who helped drive her to and from work, pick up groceries, prescriptions and take her to her appointments. It means a lot to me that she had great friends and a strong support group around her to help whenever she needed. Thank you all.

A visitation for Fran will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, from 12:30 to 2:30pm followed immediately by a graveside service at 2:30pm all at White Chapel Funeral Home and Cemetery, 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119.
