

He attended Westport High School graduating in 1961. He graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City with a BA in Social Sciences and post graduate work as a research assistant in the sociology department. To support his college education during his high school years he had a number of part time jobs: Kroger grocery store, downtown shoe store, Mission Lumber Co., Sears Roebuck, Ford Motor Co. Parts Warehouse, Western Typesetting and Jackson County Parks and Street Department. He served in the US Army from 1966-1969 with deployment during the Vietnam War. His final year was as enlisted aide to the Post Commander Ft. Benning GA. After grad school, he worked for Midwest Research Institute on Law Enforcement and city, state, and federal incarceration projects funded by the Ford Foundation and the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration. He continued this work for the University City Science Center in Washington DC and Philadelphia, PA on the evaluation of the “sting” projects conducted by various police department across the U.S and Hawaii. After leaving the world of criminal justice research, he returned to Kansas City, Mo. Opened and operated a picture frame shop called the “Old Westport Framing Company” until his final retirement. Jack loved and regularly played tennis, handball and racquetball until a number of back surgeries ended these sports. He also had a love of cars and motorcycles which began in high school with the “Gentleman’s” hot rod club and lasted a lifetime.
In 1993, at age 50, he met and married Betty Ann Kimsey, the love of his life. Jack was fortunate to be blessed with many friends, some made during his pre-teens and high school years, others at UMKC, while in the service and over the many years.
He was preceeded in death by his mother Donna Rhea Mickeletto and his father Jack Weston McCullough.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Betty McCullough, sister Lisa (John) Kennedy, nephews: John Charles Kennedy, Joshua (Peyton) Kennedy, Jeff (Beth) Deane, Jim (Diana) Deane; 2 great nephews, Tom (Sydney) Deane, Jake Deane; his beloved Aunt Ginny and numerous cousins.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 12, 2022 at 1pm at White Chapel Funeral Home 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, Missouri 64119 with committal services to follow. A reception will be held at the Weatherby Lake Community Center 8230 NW Potomac Ave. Weatherby Lake, Missouri 64152 at 3:30pm.
