Jim's parents moved to Kansas City, MO when he was very young. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1952 and then enlisted in the US Marines for 3 years and served in the Korean War. He attended William Jewel College, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Jim was always a dedicated fan of the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. For many years, he was active in the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, Northeast Masonic Lodge, York Rite Lodge, Scottish Rite Lodge, Ararat Shrine Temple, Sanford Brown American Legion Post, Northeast Memorial Post Veterans of Foreign Wars, Marine Corps League, and the American Royal Committee. He also enjoyed swimming and traveling. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Independence Boulevard Christian Church.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Myers and Opal Myers. Survivors include his children, Yana Moseley (Myers), Barbara Myers and Thomas Myers; sister, Betty Zimmerman (Myers); grandchildren, Candice Myers, Cameron Moseley, Elle Myers and Samuel Moseley; and his favorite cousin, Jane Gruschka and family.
