James Albert Shaw Jr.

James Shaw age 82, of Smithville ,MO peacefully passed away on January 13, 2025. James Shaw was born on March 26, 1942 in Kansas City, Kansas to Vera and James Shaw. He married the love of his life Sandra Shaw in 1965. The couple had two children, Jennifer Suhr/Shaw and Tim Shaw.

James Shaw lived a full and meaningful life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He spent many years as a chemical salesman, where his dedication and work ethic earned him the respect of his peers. Outside of his professional life, James had a deep passion for guns and classic cars, particularly vintage models. He was an active member of the Heart of America and Northwest Missouri Model A Club for many years, where he forged lasting friendships and shared his love of automobiles with others.

James was preceded by his daughter, Jennifer, his parents, and his sister. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Shaw; his son, Tim (and daughter-in-law, Julie); his son-in-law, Troy Suhr; and his cherished grandchildren, Wyatt (and wife Aynsley), Elizabeth, and James Shaw.

A visitation will be held on January 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 919 NE 96th St, Kansas City, MO 64155. A luncheon will follow the service, with burial at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities or to a charity of your choice.
