

James graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School and later join the US Navy where he served proudly for 14 years. During that time he was aboard the USS Roark during the Vietnam conflict. He then went to work for Crete Carrier for nearly 30 years. He enjoyed driving all over the country and taking many pictures along the way. In April 2021, James was presented the honor of driving one of the Patriot Trucks for Crete.
James had no greater love than for his family. He spent time teaching his grandchildren to ride their bikes and making jokes. He could find humor in almost anything, even when the jokes on him. His great-granddaughter, Hannah, will carry on the Texas lingo, the love for food, and walking their dogs.
James Howard Wilson passed away peacefully on February 22, 2022 in his sleep from natural causes. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all!
James was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Wilson; grandson, Zachary Gertson; and his dog, Sam.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Dixie Manlief; daughters, Susan McCullough, Tammy (Jeff) Parker, Terrie (Don) Langford, Tracy Marin, Jennie O’Donnell and Jamie (Chris) Jones; sons, James Wilson, Jr. (Amy) and Mick; 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.
