

Born in Davenport, Iowa, on August 8, 1951, Janice was the cherished daughter of the late Bernard William and Evelyn Pearl (Nelson) Brus. She grew up in the Kansas City area and was a proud graduate of Oak Park High School in 1969.
In 1973, Janice married Michael J. Minnick in Kansas City, Kansas. This loving union was blessed with three daughters.
Janice dedicated her life to her family and community. She spent many years working tirelessly in the community, always bringing laughter and smiles to those she encountered. A devoted mother and "Grandma," she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren "more than anything." She was known for her dedication to her Kansas City Chiefs and for her generous heart, evidenced by the countless crocheted afghans she made for multiple organizations. Janice was blessed with lifelong friends and eagerly looked forward to her weekly "sister night." Janice was also fortunate to have been reunited with her biological siblings in Clinton, Iowa.
She is survived by her three loving daughters, all of Kansas City, Missouri: Heather Minnick, Mandy Green, and Kristin Mansker.
Janice was the proud grandmother of eight: Alexander Corbin, Sydney Prewit, Kendall Martinez, Samantha Lackey, Kaiden Green, Logan Mansker, Caleb Green, and Gabriel Wiley.
She was the adoring great-grandmother of Ryder, Sylvia, Arlo, Winslet, and Leo.
Janice is also survived by her niece Laura Bailey and her great-niece and great-nephew, Michelle Bailey and Jimmy Bailey, Jr., her biological siblings, and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Evelyn Brus; her husband, Michael J. Minnick; and her sister, Judith D. Brus.
A visitation will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home, located at 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO, 64119, on December 12, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, with funeral services immediately following.
