Jim was born on April 4, 1948, in Cherryvale, Kansas to Alfred and Donna (McConnell) Williams. He graduated from Labette County Community High School in 1966. After graduation he joined the Air Force where he achieved the rank of E4, served during the Vietnam era, and received the Good Conduct Medal. After the military he became a mill worker until the date of his retirement.
In his early family life, his proudest family moment was welcoming his daughter Elkie Christine into the world. In 1984 he married the love of his life Judy, who completed his family by adding her two children Marty and Gayla. Jim and Judy liked many activities with family and friends; camping, float trips, dancing to Johnny B Goode and Willie Nelson, and spent many hours working in his workshop on his Chevelle, which he enjoyed drag racing. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family, and a nice cold Coors Light!
Jim was preceded in death by his father Alfred Williams, sister Lois Couch, and grandson Cody Long.
