John was born on November 11, 1941 in Marshall, Missouri to Thelma Johnson and Morrison Fenner. John pursued a career in Information Technology and retired from the City of Kansas City in 1998. John relocated to the Lake of the Ozarks in 2008 to enjoy his retirement. His children and friends remember him as a kind, patient and witty individual who loved the simple things and his life at the lake.
John is preceded in death by his mother and father, along with his brother William Fenner and sister Francis D’Angelo.
John is survived by his son, Mark (Brenda) Fenner of The Colony, TX; his daughters Mary Beth (Evan) Kierstead of Portland, OR; Kelly Comley of Kansas City, MO and Becky (Tom) Fenner of Gladstone, MO. John is also survived by his grandchildren Kyle (Abbie) Fenner of Grapevine, TX; Katelyn (Austin) Fahy of Little Elm, TX; Finian Kierstead of Portland, OR; and Jackson Comley of Wentzville, MO.
A celebration of life will be held at Stone of Swift located at 1633 Swift Avenue Kansas City, Missouri 64116 on June 29th, 2025 from 11 am to 2 pm.
