Joseph D. Short (Donny), 64, of Kansas City Missouri went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 5, 2017, with his loving family by his side. He was born December 3,1952 to Lewis and Naomi Short; the youngest of 3 children. Don entered into the Air Force in 1970 at the age of 18. He completed basic training at Lackland AFB,Texas and then served as a Jet Engine Tech before being honorably discharged. Don is survived by 1 sister, Dianna Short; 1 brother, Robert (Pam) Short; 1 daughter, Nancy Fox; and 1 son, Merle Johnson, along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Walter Short and Lona Corum; maternal grandparents, Robert Sandridge and Anna Mae Dempton; parents, Lewis O. and Naomi E. Short; and spouses, Mary E. (Fritter) Short and Madeline A. (DiRaimo) Short. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was loved and treasured by all that came in contact with him, rather it be thru sports, such as bowling, Nascar or his Kansas City Chiefs. Visitation will be Friday, March 10, 2017 from 6-8pm, with a full military service on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 10am. Interment immediately following.
