He was born January 29, 1944, in New York, New York, the son of William Henry and Florence (Nuesse) Bentley.
The family and Kenneth moved from New York to Glasgow, Missouri a young age. Kenneth graduated from Glasgow High School in Glasgow, Missouri. He later moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he married his bride, Evelyn Kramm. They were blessed with one daughter, Carla.
He starting working at Prior Brass, going to work for Allis-Chalmers as a machinist, and then became a heavy equipment operator with Stewart Sand Company, which later became Kaw Valley Sand and Gravel. During his time with Kaw Valley, Kenneth and Ben Kates along with Dakota Manning started Kaw Valley Wrecking. He was a member of Local #101, Operating Engineers.
After retirement, they enjoyed their time at Lake Pomme De Terre, playing golf and fishing, and an occasional visit to the Galmey V.F.W.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn (Kramm) Bentley; his daughter, Carla Valentine; and two brothers, Ted Bentley and William Bentley Jr.; and one sister, Edna Stewert.
Kenneth is survived by his son-in-law, Bob Valentine of Shawnee, Kansas; various nieces and nephews; Close friends and caregivers, Patty George of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; and Patricia Swartz of Pleasant Valley Missouri; and most of all, El Puso aka El.
A visitation for Kenneth will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with funeral services starting at 2:00 PM, all at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119, burial following the service in the White Chapel Cemetery.
