

Kenneth D. Moxley, 78, of North Kansas City, MO passed away October 1, 2017. He enlisted in the Army Reserves in 1957 when he was 18 years old and served for the next 7 years as a Combat Medic. In October of 1962, the Army activated Ken for the “Cuban Missile Crisis”; in 1964, he was honorably discharged. In May 1959, he began working on the assembly line for Ford Motor Company at the Claycomo Missouri Assembly Plant and retired from Ford in June of 1989 after 30 years of service. After he retired from Ford, he began driving a school bus for the Park Hill School R5 District. This was a job that he loved doing and he drove for the next 21 years. Ken was an Adult Leader in Boy Scouts of America for many years and he was very active in the Independent Order of Foresters. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Evelyn Wagner; his parents Harrison Joseph Moxley and Lena Faye Bradford and two sisters Bonita Faye Bruce and Mary Kathleen Beuke. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carolyn Marie; his sons Daniel Joseph Moxley, and Doug Allen Moxley, his two daughters Christi Lynne Elton and Connie Sue O’Dell; his 8 grandchildren Nathan Moxley, Curtis Moxley, David Moxley, Kylie Moxley, Andrew Moxley, Marty Elton, Rachel Woodke, and Stephanie Woodke, and 14 Great grand Children. After a long battle with Parkinson’s and Dementia, he died peacefully surrounded by his family. In lieu of flowers the family request the donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Family will receive friends 4:00 to 6:30 pm on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at White Chapel Funeral Home, Gladstone, MO. Memorial service to follow, at 6:30 pm. Inurnment will take place at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, at a later date.
