Kitty was a devoted wife, beloved mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, treasured sister, iconic aunt, and loyal friend. Kitty left this world peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025, with the love of her life by her side, Ernie Ketcham, her husband of 50 years, who adored her deeply.
Kitty was the heart and soul of her family. A loving and steadfast partner, she stood faithfully beside Ernie as they built and ran their family business together. Her strength, commitment, and unwavering encouragement were instrumental to every step of their journey.
She was a devoted mother to her two sons, and nothing brought her greater joy than watching her family grow. She welcomed daughters-in-law with opens arms, and her love multiplied with each grandchild and great-grandchild who entered her life. Her family was her pride and joy, and she poured her heart into every moment she spent with them.
Known for her fun and generous spirit, Kitty had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel at home. Her hospitality was legendary, whether hosting lively gatherings with friends or intimate family dinners, she created an atmosphere of joy, laughter, and love.
She especially treasured her time at the Lake of the Ozarks, where countless cherished memories with family and friends were made. Thanksgiving at Oglebay Park with her family in Wheeling held a special place in her heart, a beloved tradition she looked forward to each year. She dearly loved her Seattle family who treated her like blood rather than an in-law and adored time spent with longtime friends, Sandee and Bruce.
A true lover of life, Kitty had a passion for all things Paris and was delighted in her travels there. Antiquing, yard-sale adventures, decorating and fun times with her treasured Kansas City girlfriends who were so supportive of her brought her so much joy and lasting friendships.
Those who knew Kitty will remember her for her radiant personality and being the life of every party, fun-loving, vibrant, and full of laughter, and for her deep empathy, kindness, and forgiving heart. She touched countless lives with her compassion and her unique ability to make others feel welcome and truly loved.
Her legacy of love, laughter, forgiveness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A rosary for Kitty will occur on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 5 PM, followed by a visitation until 7 PM, at White Chapel Funeral Home. A celebration of Kitty's life will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at St. Therese Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Kitty will be laid to rest in Leavenworth National Cemetery on September 25, 2025 at 2:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Meals on Wheels at Platte County Senior Services, an organization close to her heart that she volunteered with. Kitty's spirit is best honored by sharing a kind word, offering a warm welcome, or extending a helping hand-just as she did so beautifully, every day of her life.
