Larry was born on January 16, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa to Vern O. and Lois E Drottz. He attended East High School with the Class of 1962. Then attended Drake University and graduating in 1966 with a degree in accounting.
He worked for Farmland Industries for over 25 years before opening his own Tax Preparation business, Drottz Tax and Accounting in Gladstone, Missouri until 2023.
Larry was a big fan of Kansas State and Iowa Football as well as his great love for all his grandkids, attending all their activities and events. He was an active baseball coach for all three sons as well as several grandkid’s teams.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sara Drottz; brothers-in-law, Dominic Carbo and Bruce Dimick
Survivors include his sons, J. Vern (Kim) Drottz, Douglas (Callie) Drottz, and Tim Drottz; sisters, Carol Carbo and Cheryl (Jack Zufall) Dimick; grandchildren, Jacob, Will, Elaine, and Emily.
We were all proud to call him father & grandfather. We will all miss him and never forget him.
