Lindy was born February 26, 1940, to Oakel and Mary Evans and was raised in Hamiliton, Missouri. Upon graduating from Penny High School, he attended and graduated from Central Missouri State University. In August of 1963, Lindy married Wanda Brown, and together they had three boys, Brandon, Bradley, and Steven.
After graduating from college, Lindy worked for a finance company, United Missouri Bank, and in 1972, he and Wanda opened the first of several successful businesses. When he was not working on the businesses, Lindy devoted his free time to coaching a baseball team in the North Kansas City Area Baseball League and coaching the Chargers football team in the North Suburban Youth Football League. Lindy had the honor of coaching both Brad and Steve in football and baseball, and even after they moved on, Lindy continued to devote his free time coaching and donating over 30 years of his life to baseball and football. After Lindy and Wanda retired, they both devoted their time to supporting and following their three grandchildren. Lindy never missed a baseball, football, volleyball, soccer, softball, or school function the grandchildren were involved in.
Lindy was proceeded in death by his parents, Oakel and Mary Evans; his first son, Brandon Dean Evans; and his brother-in-law, Orville Wiseman, Jr.
Lindy is survived by his wife, Wanda (Brown) Evans; sons, Brad Evans (Katie) and Steve Evans (Lisa); sister, Connie (Evans) Wiseman; grandsons, Hunter Evans (Hannah Simon) and Keaton Evans; and granddaughter, Jaden Evans.
