

passed away peacefully after celebrating a century of life filled with love, strength, and cherished family moments. Growing up on a farm with her brothers, Floyd and Ray, Mae developed a resilient spirit that she carried throughout her life. She bravely ventured from her rural roots to Kansas City, where she went to business school and became a bookkeeper. She Married her husband of 47 years James William Chapman Nov. 23, 1946. Mae's life was a testament to the progress of the 20th century, witnessing and embracing change over her 100 years.
Mae and her beloved husband found joy in retirement, creating treasured memories with family at their cabin at the Lake of the Ozarks'. They were avid travelers and bowlers for many years. Mae served over 50 years in several leadership positions with the American Legion. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of McMurray Methodist Church, where she formed lasting friendships.
Preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Elizabeth Banwart, her brothers, her husband James William Chapman, daughter-in-law Cindy and her great grandchild Jordyn.
Mae leaves behind a legacy of love in her children: James W. Jr. (Connie) Chapman, Linden (Deborah) Chapman, and Elizabeth “Betty” (Frank) Gianessi. Her family tree flourishes with 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild with one on the way, each a testament to her enduring influence and love.
Mae Chapman, affectionately known as Mom, Granny, and Gram, was the steadfast anchor of our family, embodying quiet strength and unwavering love. Her legacy will continue to inspire us all.
